When Opposition Advances the Gospel
In Acts 7:54–8:8, Stephen is killed for his faithful witness to Christ, believers are scattered by persecution, and the Gospel begins spreading beyond Jerusalem into Samaria. What appears to be a devastating defeat becomes a powerful demonstration of God’s sovereignty as Jesus uses opposition to advance His mission. This passage reminds us that nothing, not even persecution or death, can stop the advance of the Gospel.
