God’s Deliverers Rejected

In Acts 6:8–7:53, Stephen stands trial before the Sanhedrin and responds to accusations concerning Moses, the law, and the temple. Rather than merely defending himself, he walks through Israel’s history to expose a troubling pattern: God repeatedly raises up deliverers, yet His people repeatedly reject them. He also shows that God’s presence has never been confined to a building, exposing a misunderstanding of the temple itself. Stephen’s message culminates in a bold verdict: the very leaders who believed they were defending God had rejected the Messiah God sent.
